to figure out if there's something mechanical or electrical going on. I'd do what lymon suggested as a check. If the plugs aren't wet, either fuel isn't being delivered (which you confirmed the injectors were clicking) or its auto igniting due to the camshaft not spinning. The other thing you could do, is keep the plug on cylinder 1 out, run the car ever so briefly to see if you're getting fuel delivery. It's very odd indeed.
